Jim Alkon is Marketing Director for CRN International, a radio marketing company in Hamden, CT, whose creative concepts transcend advertising and help brands sell products using the power of sound.
He has set marketing direction, launched websites, spearheaded social media and public relations initiatives, written blogs, created thought leadership white papers, orchestrated crazy ideas now and then, and increased overall awareness and exposure for the company. Over the years, as a marketer, editor, business development professional, consultant, and meetings industry expert, he has witnessed organizational change at every turn and helped companies alter their businesses and strategies to maximize growth. He has run brands and titles, increased revenue and profits, breathed new life into titles, repositioned troubled ones, created new content, and developed unique marketing strategies and concepts to separate brands from the clutter.

Jim has spoken on subjects ranging from event technology to the multigenerational workplace to managing meetings effectively. He serves on the Ad Age Advisory Panel and has served on the Executive Committee and Board of MPI’s Greater New York Chapter. He was honored in 2014 with MPI New York’s prestigious President’s Award. In his spare time, Jim can be found with his family, his dog, playing golf poorly, reading novels, playing the piano, and rooting for any sports team with the word “Boston” on its jersey.
